Preheat your oven to 160° Grease a 20cm round cake tin and line with baking paper.
Cream butter and sugar on medium speed until pale and creamy.
Beat in eggs and almond extract until well combined.
Add flour, baking powder and almond meal and mix. Slowly add milk and mix well.
Pour batter into the prepared cake tin and bake for 45-55 minutes. You will know Its ready when It's firm to touch or when a skewer inserted comes out clean. Leave in the tin for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Dust with icing sugar.
