In a small bowl set aside 1/3 of the marshmallows, almonds and cherries.Place the chocolate in a bowl over simmering water and stir until melted. Make sure the bowl does not touch the water.
Stir through the shortbread along with the remaining marshmallows, almonds and cherries into the melted chocolate. Working quickly transfer to the lined slice pan. Top with the reserved marshmallows, almonds and cherries, pressing down gently as you go.
Refrigerate until firm and then slice into squares to serve.
